Hot Fudge Sauce - 1

Easy Hot Fudge Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (or white sugar)
  • 12 oz. bittersweet chocolate chips*
  • 1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cut into 1 Tbsp pieces
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan stir together brown sugar, chocolate chips, evaporated milk, butter and salt.
  • Bring to a light boil over medium heat, stirring constantly with a spatula (scrape pan and bottom edges). Then let simmer about 1 minute while whisking constantly.
  • Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Let cool for about 10 minutes to thicken slightly before using.
  • Once cool store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • *For a sweeter hot fudge sauce use semi-sweet chocolate chips or increase sugar by up to an additional 1/2 cup. As is this is a slightly darker fudge sauce.
  • To reheat: Spoon desired amount into a microwave safe dish, reheat in 20 second intervals stirring between each until warmed through and a pourable consistency.
