Easy Hot Fudge Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (or white sugar)
- 12 oz. bittersweet chocolate chips*
- 1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cut into 1 Tbsp pieces
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan stir together brown sugar, chocolate chips, evaporated milk, butter and salt.
- Bring to a light boil over medium heat, stirring constantly with a spatula (scrape pan and bottom edges). Then let simmer about 1 minute while whisking constantly.
- Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Let cool for about 10 minutes to thicken slightly before using.
- Once cool store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- *For a sweeter hot fudge sauce use semi-sweet chocolate chips or increase sugar by up to an additional 1/2 cup. As is this is a slightly darker fudge sauce.
- To reheat: Spoon desired amount into a microwave safe dish, reheat in 20 second intervals stirring between each until warmed through and a pourable consistency.
